Has any Brit out there been asked stereotypical questions?

At school, people often ask me if I like crumpets. I have no idea what a "crumpet" is. And, I have often been told I sound like Harry Potter or Hermione Granger, which is weird cuz they're from London, and I'm from Southampton. I wuz wondering if anyone else has this problem.
