Samsung Blackjack II decided to delete all videos & photos on its own?

I took a few videos & photos an hour ago and when I just went to open them to upload them onto my computer, they were GONE. Just poofed, vanished, nowhere to be found. Everything was wiped out from my video & photo folder. Why did this happen and can I retrieve/restore them somehow?
