I am starting a website with a partner and would like to legally establish ownership equally between us how?

I have set up a website with a friend and we are both joint owners of the site. There are no ets as of yet and no discernable income for the moment. I would like to set up some sort of legal agreement that we are both joint owners of the company. I have been thinking of doing this as an LLC. Is this the best way?
